SARA stands for SmARt villages as new place for femAle entrepreneurship and is a project in the funding line INNOSUP (Innovation Support). The project partners from Spain, Italy, Slovenia and Austria developed concepts to better support female entrepreneurs in rural areas.

The overall objective of SARA was to enable the participating innovation agencies to exchange knowledge, know-how and good practices to create new tools for developing business ideas in an “unusual” place of entrepreneurship. The target areas were especially rural areas, e.g. small villages with high-growth potential and customized support services for women entrepreneurs. The project enabled the four partners to better foster approaches for increasing their female customers’ satisfaction in an enhanced work-balance condition.

Overall, SARA aimed at improving the support provided to innovation processes for women entrepreneurship by testing and developing a model of innovation ecosystem based on smart villages innovation services. accent incubator acted as one of the four full project partners.
